Good night, Sunday

I had some errands to run today. Didn't get to them. Oops! I'm running out of room for new pics so one of my errands include software. Until I take care of that, no new pics for awhile.
OOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhh, Noooooooooooooooo!

Bummer! I made a new book last week and it's one of my best. Have to wait to share the pics for a bit.

The Chicklet and I went to Border's at the Biltmore this afternoon. The first thing I noticed when we walked in was a sense of spaciousness. We made a beeline for upstairs. Again, that sense of open space. Turns out they moved the "Craft" section into the middle of the "Art" section. Everything's been moved around. I've seen this in other stores. Less inventory=more space. It's the economy. It's unsettling.

One consequence of less inventory is that those new books I want to look at aren't there. If I'm going to buy a book blind, I might as well buy it online. That doesn't help Borders does it? Damed if I do, damned if I don't.....

Two new finds today-"Books+Art Handcrafting Artists' Books" by Dorothy Simpson Krause. It's a how to book. I think I've got that part covered with my other books but the examples and images are beautiful and unique. They're not visual journals or mixed media pieces but rather books as art pieces. Hard to explain but there is a difference.

Find #2- Soft bound reproduction of a 1895 Montgomery Ward Catalogue. It's a brick at 2" thick. It was also a whopping $3.99. Whoo hoo!

Find #3-not mine but the Chicklet's but I'll be taking a look at it. "Twilight, the Director's Journal." It's a faux scrapbook/journal of the movie.

The Chicklet gave me the cold shoulder at dinner. She preferred her new book to me. I took my revenge. I looked through the new "Sculpture" magazine and interrupted her now and then to show her different artworks. Dinner was good at California Pizza Kitchen. Hawaiian pizza for her and Tequila Lime Chicken Pasta for me. Absolutely yummy!

  1. Sounds like a great time even though there was way more space at the bookstore.
Have yet to do anything with the first stencil class but am considering signing up for the second one anyway! I still want to make portrait stencils.
