New Altered Composition Book

Here's my latest altered composition book. I pulled out a brightly colored book that reminds me of the some of the Spring colors I'm seeing all over Phoenix. Although we live smack in the middle of the city, trees are flowering, flowers are blooming. The color is vibrant. I love this time of year. The pattern has been muted with a lightly printed, white paper napkin. I glued 3 vertical pieces of printed organza ribbon and then tacked down a hand crocheted doily. (Recognize it Kim and Jennifer)? Lastly, I attached a silk flower with a big, black brad and added the elastic to hold my pen. I have yet to lose my pen since I started adding a holder.

Rarely do I have a set idea about how I want the book to look ahead of time. My choice of book is purposeful. From then on my choices are spontaneous. I love the way this book came out.

I've never thought about it before but then I wondered if my journal is too girlie or if it's appropriate for a middle aged women. My conclusion? Who cares?!

  1. Love how your journal came out! That elastic idea is awesome too! This has inspired me to finish the journal that I started a while back... yikes; almost 6 months ago! I keep scribbling on a small spiral notepad that I keep in my purse. Thanks for stopping by and commenting & for the kind welcome! : )
