Counting Sheep

I hit that wall of fatigue all of a sudden this afternoon. I've already gone to bed and fallen asleep but I woke up awhile ago and wandered into the kitchen. I should have known better than to open an email from the ex-husband and now I have too much going thru my head to fall back to sleep.

Want stress? Want knots in your stomach? Have an ex like mine. I was married for 5 1/2 years and filed for divorce 7 1/2 years ago and never regretted it. If moving to the arctic were an option, I would have packed my bags a long time ago.

This is not going to be a rant. It's not what I want to share on this blog. But the negative energy does influence me. So to get my mind elsewhere, I thought I'd share some more pics from my jaunt to the botanical garden last month.
The butterflies are on display for another month. The Chicklet enjoys seeing them but her bug phobias extends to butterflies. The thought of one landing on her, freaks her out. Yet she loves the fact that one type of butterfly shares her name.
For all the negative, there is positive and I feel very lucky that I can find it, see it, feel it and share it with the Chicklet.
Love this palm, fanning out and reaching to the sky. My favorite desert plant has to be the ocotillo. I see them in bloom while I drive around town. Got to get a pic-to add to my collection of 100 other ocotillo pics... It's another tall, narrow, reach to the sky kind of plant. Photographing them is a challenge and this will be the first year with the new camera.
It was dark when I left my landscape design class on Monday evening. It was a short walk to the parking lot but it was a completely different experience to be in the garden at night. I've seen planty of desert animals there but I wondered if any creepy crawlies were going to wander onto the path.

My mind has wandered elsewhere. Goal accomplished! God natt.

  1. Your pictures look so awesome on the black background. I am enjoying visiting! I remember plastic doilies...I'll be on the lookout. The effect is great!

    Love those flowers...
